Enviro-Line Co, Inc. is prepared to meet your filtration demands with high-grade filtration media products and the decades of industry expertise needed to put them to work. We understand the importance of well-chosen filtration media and pride ourselves on expertly meeting the demands of our customers’ needs.
We have two types of filtration equipment, Schreiber “Fuzzy Filter” and Nova rotary Disc Filters. We have multiple installations in our area.
NPDES Phosphorous Filtration Standards
Filtration is required on multiple projects for current National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit requirements. We focus primarily on phosphorous mitigation.
Phosphorus is contained in a soluble form, inside the biomass. Filtration will reduce Total Suspended Solids (TSS) to less than 2 ppm, which further reduces the solids discharged. Approximately 20% of effluent TSS is phosphorus—therefore, the tighter the limits the more important the level of filtration required.
If the NPDES permit has a phosphorus limit of < 0.75 ppm, we suggest filtration products to remove TSS to < 2 ppm. Our approach is one of thoroughness and over-capacity planning.
Fuzzy Filter Information Overview
Our primary approach to broad filtration requirements involves utilization of fuzzy filters. Our fuzzy filters in Camden County, MO are Missouri Department of Natural Resources (MODNR) and Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) approved at 30 gpm/sq.ft filtration rates. Other filters are rated at 3 gpm/sq ft. The benefits of fuzzy filtration are as follows:
- 30gpm/sq ft filtration rate
- Title 22 accepted for water reuse
- Solids removal to 4 micron diameter
- 700gpm (1 mgd) in a 5×5 filter area
- Enclosed reactor for to open water for bugs
- Media replacement not required
- Media life exceeds 20 years
- Compressible media allows operator to adjust filtration
- Compression 0-40 percent (30% is standard design)
